What You Need To Know and Why

The changing seasons will necessitate a change in your daily wear. The warm weather clothes will be rotated out of the most accessible areas of your closet and replaced with your winter wear. Some of your wardrobe may not make the cut. Purging out of style/out of weight/worn out clothing is a good time to design a custom closet organizer system.
Here is the checklist:
-
Short garments like shirts and shorts - there should be two levels
-
Dresses and robes section
-
Shoes and boots - shelves flat or tilted, hanging bags, cubbies or stacked boxes
-
Folded garments such as sweaters/shirts/jeans on shelving(best) or drawers(not as efficient)
-
Pants - short over the hanger(best) or by the cuff/waist(not as efficient)
-
Purses - shelves(best) or hanging from hooks(can stretch out your straps)
-
Hats - stacked on shelves(most efficient) or displayed on hooks or hat rack(needs lots of space)
-
Belts/Tie on extendable racks mounted next to your pants/shirts
-
Drawers to eliminate dressers ease of floor space in the bedroom
-
Hampers in open roll-out baskets, tilt-out baskets(behind a door) or a stand alone.
-
Lighting - might be a good time to go green with LED
-
Paint the walls - update your color pallet
-
Full length mirror - back side of the door(walk-in) or make room for one on the wall(least efficient)
-
Center Island of drawer and/or shelves - your closet needs to be at least 9 feet by 9 feet
-
Ironing Board - compact size in a drawer or fold out full size on the wall(an outlet need to be close)
-
Ottoman or stool to sit down when putting on shoes
-
Wall safe(utilize the space in between the studs) or floor safe(can be fireproof)
